I currently own a 1972 280s with 4 speed auto transmission. Yesterday the car decided that after driving it for 5 minutes and waiting at the lights, it didn't want to drive anymore. It was in drive but would not go forward. I switched off the engine for a while and then when i started the engine, the transmission worked again. This time it made a strange noise as it drove but at the next set of lights no drive through the transmission again. Eventually it moved foward again after switching the engine off for a while but i had to let off the throttle a lot before it would change gear. It seemed like something was slipping in the drive before it would change up to a higher gear.
Could someone give me some advice? :(
