My 1989 190E 2.6L gas/auto has a problem. When I push a button on the Becker Cassette player, it just clicks inside somewhere. It doesnt light up or do anything.

Do I need to enter a secret code to unlock it? How to find this code?

Also on my other 190E - It came without a stereo. I went to a salvage yard and got a 1993 stereo from a 190E. It said Mercedes-Benz on it, instead of Becker. Am I going to need a code for that one too? Do I need the VIN # of the car from the salvage yard to get the number?

Help. I am rather new to Mercedes.
