I found an '02 E320 w/ 41k from a Volvo dealer, asking $24k. I have never owned a Mercedes. Is there any reliable indicator of true mileage?
Anything about this year / model that I should be wary of? I really want to get a M.B. wanting to spend about $25k. This is the the best I can do,
or should I look into an older S class?

The E will be much less expensive to own than any S. It is nearly impossible to tamper with the mileage on these vehicles. Not even an authorized dealership can subtract mileage from the odometer. Get it checked out at your local MB facility before making any decisions. Also, think very seriously about an extended warranty/

This is great car in my opinion. I see very few problems with these at my dealer. It's the last year of production for 210 chassis (excluding the wagon) and all the bugs have been worked out. If had to choose between this car and an older S-class, the S doesn't even come close.

To Phaedrus242, I just realised you change your car again... A loaded new E320, you must be full or really lucky!
