Hello all,
I have an 89 420 SEL and the check engine light has been on for quite a while. I always kind of figured it was the O2 sensor, but after I changed it, the red light remained. (the car does run much better though) Soo, I was wondering if there is a code reader out there for my year Benz or if anyone has any ideas?

My check engine line came on and I was directed to replace my Air Mask Sensor. I have a 99 SL500 and the price for the part alone was around $450.00 but the light has not reappeared and the car is running much better.

My check engine line came on and I was directed to replace my Air Mask Sensor. I have a 99 SL500 and the price for the part alone was around $450.00 but the light has not reappeared and the car is running much better.

It turns out that I had a vaccuum leak in the line going to the master cylinder. I replaced the line with 3/8 fuel line but I still need the little "vaccuum check valve" that goes inline.
