Hi, has anyone had any experience with Monark parts? I have seen them advertised on some US website and are quite cheap.
I have contacted Monark and they have sent me out their catalogues and I can order directly but I need more info on product quality etc...
A local Auto electrician told me (after finding Monark parts in a Truck starter) that he thinks they aren't as good as they were. I really need to know if anyone has used the injector nozzles and other stuff.
Pricing seems good though but I can get even cheaper from China but........
So what's the good word?

Monark has a good reputation in the diesel world. Chinese diesel injection nozzles? Dunno about that...

Their stuff looks good and if made in Germany probably better than Bosch nozzles that are now made somewhere else.
Actually some Chinese stuff is quite good like a Turbo and injectors I bought for my Landcruiser. But know where to buy from is the problem.
I'll need some more input on the Monark stuff before I buy though. Like everything else that goes Global, the end product usually starts to loose quality like Bosch. That's why i am always searching for alternatives.

Monark is not new, we've had Monark injectors for years. Better than Bosch? Depends who you talk to. They are more expensive than Bosch.

I know they aren't new. It's just that I have never heard of them in Australia.
They told me that they should be around 20-30% cheaper than the Bosch wholesale price ex bin. Their nozzles are made in Germany whereas the Bosch ones now come from Turkey, India or elsewhere.
I would like to try some of there stuff first but they have a minimum 400 Euro order.
I should just take a leap of faith.

their GP's don't last as long but they are hotter then the Bosch/Beru counterparts.. Good if you live up north..overkill here in the south.
Bosch nozzles show up popping off all over the board...you have to re-shim them in order to have a nice matched set.

That's no good about the plugs. I was going to upgrade to pencil type from loops and use the better controller with after glow.

Actually, going by what's available aftermarket here in OZ their plugs might be OK. Compared to the Taiwanese and Chinese stuff. It might be worth getting a bit of everything to try out. I'm buying some Optimal parts as well soon, I hope they are up to scratch.

Just installed Monark nozzles last week in my 81 300D, runs great.
Used Bosch glow plugs for now since the Monark glow plugs were not available. I'd have to drive down to Seattle to buy the plugs and matching relay box to see the big diff.

Where would the glow plug controller actually be located on a 123. I will be installing the quick glow one and need to found out where it goes.

For us here with LHD, its located on the driver's side engine compartment beside the headlights. You can also follow the glowplug wiring from your engine to the control/relay unit or box.
See attached picture.

I thought it might be under the dash in side the car. I have the UK or Euro version in AUS it's not in the engine compartment. NA models differ slightly from the rest.

With the NA version under the dash would be the Cruise Control Amplifier. Its in an aluminum casing and not plastic though.
