Hello,
My C200K Sports Coupe is a 2001 car with a Audio 10 CD player. The other day, as I ended a journey and turned off the ignition, the radio, instead of switching off, stayed on and all the buttons were unresponsive.
I was worried the battery would be drained.
Turned the ignition back on and off again, on again, pressed a few buttons on the radio and the sound went off.
But, the radio screen is still ON even with the ignition off. Whilst there is now no risk of draining the battery overnight, it does mean I have no working radio or CD, and this is driving me nuts.
No buttons or combinations of buttons seem to have any effect, nor does the steering wheel controls.
I'm thinking that disconnecting the battery for 5 mins might "re-boot" the CD/Radio player.
This leads to the next problem. I'm not the original owner and although I have the owner's manual/radio manual/service book, there is not the radio code attached to the inside cover. There was a tiny label with 5556/A on a little "innovations" booklet. This might be it. Do you know?
The radio booklet says it's a Becker order number 1335.588-185.
My local MB garage says they can get the code for £15, but I thought a search here could be helpful first.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Tubbster
