So I've got a 1999 ML430 which has the uncanny ability to not play burned CDs. Loading them gives me the error codes Err1 and Err2, but, every so often it'll load some of the CDs. Of course I've cleaned the CDs, and I've tested whether they load better when the car is parked. Doesn't work any better.

Assuming that the CDs aren't the problem, how would I go about cleaning the CD magazine and/or player? The CD magazine is mounted in the cubby hole in the trunk, but I can't find the laser that actually reads the disc.

Also, what do the error codes Err1 and Err2 designate?

EDIT: I know the CDs all work, because they work in my friend's car. Cleanliness isn't the issue because the only one that's scratched loads perfectly every time.
