Just another thing about MB springs. I can't gaet any new springs here in the land down under. I have had some priced and they are just too expensive with shipping and all that. No, I have been advised by a local spring and suspension systems manufacturer and supplier that coil springs can be stretched out and retempered or something.
The springs in my 300TD are not like the ones in most other cars like toyota and the like so I'm wondering if anyone had something like this done before. I don't want to remove the springs yet as I don't have the right tool for that as I nearly injured myself at the last removal.
Can they be done? This way? Restretched?

I have already been quoted a price and it isn't bad. Better than new springs anyway.

P.S. I'm still looking for an auto locker that will fit this too.

Technically speaking, I think that it is possible. However, the springs are bent from material which was already subjected to heat and it is likely difficult to duplicate it's former form. Re-heating might destroy the geometry of the spring itself.. So if I were you, I would buy new coil springs instead.

I'm not sure that thry are heated. There may be a jig that will just stretch them.
