Is there a difference between the OUTBOX and SENTBOX? When I reply to a PM, it's listed in the OUTBOX.

Yes...

When you send a private message and your recipient didn't receive (check) it yet, it's listed in the OutBox, once your recipient receives (checks) your message it's listed in the SendBox :)
