I'm sorry, but I read that a the new RX-8 comes with a 1.3L engine that produces 250 HP! Good god that is good numbers. I know that Benz's are the best, yeah! But my hats off to mazda. Of course, who wants to be seen in a mazda? I always love the looks I get in the benz, can't trade that for anything.
The RX-8 has a Wankel rotary engine. Displacement of a rotary is not directly comparable to that of a piston engine.

The generally accepted conversion constant is 1.8.
Displacment of rotary engine times 1.8 equals displacement of piston engine.
Therefore; 1.3 liters x 1.8 = 2.34 liters
BTW, the Wankel powered Mercedes C111 held many speed records in the '70's.
