:D Hi, I'm picking up a 1980 300sd next week that I won on Ebay. It has 250k, and has only had 2 owners. I just wanted to ask if there are any known common things to look out for on the vehicle, I have never owned a diesel, and don't really know what to expect. I bought a new C class a couple of months ago, and I'm really enjoying it, so when I saw the 300 on Ebay not too far away for a pretty low price, I thought I would roll the dice. The W116 series 300SD is a classic Mercedes-Benz. I have one myself. The engine is known for being durable and running up some high mileage. The items of concern on any W116 would be body rust, leaking window seals, and bad seat pads. Keep us posted once you get the car. I will be happy to respond to any questions you may have. thanks for the response. about the only the only thing the seller says the car does need is back seat padding. is that easily available? thanks,
