Grandpa's Benz has been sitting for a little over a month. I got it in the other day to move it and the glow plug light did not come on. I checked the fuse on the firewall and it looks good. Is there a way to check the relay? Where is it located at? About how much to they cost to replace? Any suggestions on where to buy one? Any help would be appreciated.

On the later models(81-83) of the 240d, the Glow Plug Relay is located on the Drivers side inner fender well, just behind the headlight. There is a strip fuse located inside the glow plug relay, which may be burnt into. You can check it by removing the cover from the glow plug relay. Also, if this is not the problem, the number one glow plug can also cause the light not to come on, if this is the case I would replace the other three as well. If you need the glow plugs or the glow plug relay, you may order them from the supporters of this site at firstname.lastname@example.org, be sure to include the last 7 digits of your VIN(Vehicle Identification Number) when you send them an E-mail.
