Dear members,
Can anyone help point me in the right direction for some expert advice on crash testing of the Merc S series. My wife has been involved in a very serious accident whetre her almost new S series was rammed on the near/rearside by a boy racer in a Ford Escort. This all happened in a 30 mph limit and the car is written off, twisted chassis the works.
The Police have accepted that the accident happened at 30 mph or less ! Even though the repair people say this is impossible. Is there anyone I can ask for help? One witness stated that had she been in a smaller car or one of inferior build she would have been dead.
The car was rotated 360 degrees on the spot, such was the force of impact. All airbags worked and luckily shock was the only injury.
Please can anyone help with advice of who I can contact that is qualified to proove that such damage cannot be inflicted at 30 mph or less? Its bad enough to let the Police walk away without ensuring they do their job properly, let alone a boy racer to be still on the loose who can next time possibly kill someone.
Pictures of the car will be available soon.
By the way, this accident was in the UK.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards
