Hi Guys,

I was just hoping to get some help... I have a C230K (2001) with the electric seat adjustment on the door that has gone faulty.

The problem I have is that the passenger door does not go all the way up (for letting people access the back seats). Yesterday, an alarm on the display came up mentioning that the seat was not down (even though it is fully down - I tried several times picking it up and putting it down again; it locks into position ).

As a result of this, I cannot adjust that seat anymore. Does anybody have a similar experience or any suggestions? My local dealership says that they will have to take the seat apart to see what the problem is and I am not keen on this.

The front seat won't lift all the way unless it is in the rear 50% of its track travel. So, if your seat is too far forward, the seatback will tilt forward, but the base won't lift to provide further access to the rear.

Your seat may have to be checked by the dealer for the false warning. However, you can look under the seat to make sure no debris or wiring is interfering with it locking properly in the down position.
