93 300CE Looking for wheels/tires

Good morning...

My car is a red 1993 300CE, stock 15x6.5 8 hole rims/tires. I am looking to upgrade to 17" rims. Any chance I can fit 17x8 rims. If so, would the proper size tires be 215/45/17?

w124 chassis cars max out at 7.5: width so, follow these requirements

17x7.5
215/45-17 tire size
