I have a 2002 c230 with the bose sound system. I wanted to have the stock stero switched with a pioneer dehp9200r and have my subwoofers installed as well. The problem is that everyone says its not possible without rewiring the whole car and changing out all the spaekers! Does anyone know any other way of installing the stereo?

Your headunit is connected to the Bose amp via the fiber loop. Any aftermarket headunits and separate amps will have to be wired. Now, if you put the aftermarket amp in the same location as the Bose amp, you could probably use the same speaker wires. Bose speakers have an impedance rating of 2.something ohms and other car speakers are 4 ohms. Usually, the Bose speakers must be changed, but some amps are capable of using the Bose speakers.
