Wassup im new to the forum.I own a 2000 C230K and i want to switch head units to a aftermarket.Is there anything special i have to do before i do it.

you will need to re-wire the entire car. there is a factory amplification system and you cannot simply wire in a new head unit. luckily, benz interiors come apart like legos, so it is relatively simple compared to some other cars that require this sort of modification (read: corvette). If you have the Bose (Buy Other Sound Equiptment, better sound through marketing, no highs, no lows, gotta be bose)you need to swap out the speakers as well because they run at a different impedance level.

i changed the headunit on my car...i got the pioneer 8500mp......it works amazing- you will need 2 get a wireing harness made for mercedes and that fits your head unit brand....if you need pictures email me at plattnumplaya1@aol.com
