I HAVE C230 KOMPRESSOR 2002 AND WHEN I STAR THE AC THE BAD SMELL IS COMING OUT????

IS NORMAL THAT?

OR I HAVE TO BRING MY CAR TO DEALER?

I am new to the forum but maybe I can help...That happened in my old car as well....An auto mechanic once told me that when youy have your AC recirculating the air, the system and the vents accumulate that freon stuff...he said the key to getting the smell to go away is replacing the filters and then from then on- always turn of your AC before shutting the car off- and after that, blast your air (w/out the AC on) to clear the system (for about 45ecs to 1min). I have done this in all my cars since- and no more rotten smell...maybe that will help........

ALSO- one more thing take the system off the recirculating mode when you do this ..

It sounds like the drain lines from the condenser are plugged, and mold is growing in the water. Have the lines checked and replaced if needed. There is a chemical which can be sprayed into the system which will kill the mold. Teech's advice is good but won't work well on our cars. Even with the AC off, the system will blow cold air for over five minutes.
