Can anyone tell me what type of hydralic suspension fluid is used (factory)for the 300TE 4matic front and rear suspensions? I noticed there is a plastic bottle near the gas tank,is that for the suspension fluid ?
Is there anyway where I can buy a owner's manual or factory repairs
manual for 300TE 4matic ?

The plastic bottle near the fuel tank may be the rear window washer fluid (if you have the wagon)
The hydraulic fluid for the 4matic is HYDRAULIC FLUID and on my 90 300e is in the engine compartment driver side.
The transfer case takes ATF, as does the Auto Transsmission.

If your hydraulic fluid is leaking, it may be going to the front transfer case, not a good thing as it will overfill the transfer case and essentially your front transfer case is running on a diluted mix of tranny fluid and hydraulic oil. Bad.
