Hey gang

I have a small company that is looking into an American EFI V8 swap kit for older Mercedes cars tired 1980 and 90 models.

Of course the old favorite would be the GM 350 but with the Chrysler merger/ Mercedes take over would a Chrysler engine an tranny be more palatable ?

You have all heard of the new Chrysler hemi with a Mercedes tranny for new Chrysler cars but not too many in the wrecking yards yet.

The kit will include all engine mounts adapters, wiring hook up exhaust manifolds (if necessary) and an instruction manual with the addition of pictures and diagrams, all for around $1000.

I would really respect your opinion. What model do you think would benefit the most from this swap ?

I have a 1992 300E 2.6 which I think would be an ideal base for such a swap.Loads of room under the hood for a V8!
I agree a new Hemi engine would be cool, but I would prefer to use a Chevy LS1 or LT1 engine if I was considering doing a conversion.Much easier to get these engines and loads of aftermarket parts available.
Good luck with your venture, keep us posted.

I have had a '85 300D given to me, and I need to go fast(as the name suggests) and selling the car wont get me much money, so I want to know If you have to use a different tranny, and if other mopar engines would work with this setup.
Thanks in advance

Hi Gang

Its me again regarding the Chevy V8 or other easy swap for a 380 SEL 1982.

I have the car and the "knackerd" engine. Anyone done this swap or know of any out there it could give me a heads up to get the kit going
