I received this in an email tonight. Can anyone identify the make of car?

"Now YOU will know what the term, 'wrapping a car around a tree' means.......

Advantages of driving in Germany:

1) Overall, the cars are in much better condition because of tough inspections

2) Licenses are much harder to get, with better driving training

3) The autobahn speed limit is "whatever's safe" up to 155 mph

Disadvantages of driving in Germany:

1) When you fly off the road @ 120+ mph, you find out why Oak was used as armor on ships"

Looks like a BMW 5-series (previous generation)

Examining the photos further, I still think it's a BMW, but not a 5-series. Look at the wheels lugs (4 instead of 5). Also, what appears to be a single exhaust. It could be a 3-series with a 4-cyl. engine.

Nasty wreck!

It looks like an E46, although I thought the gas cap cover was more rectangular.

Any chance this is just photoshop?

Could that tree really have stood up to that kind of impact without breaking?

There has been a lot of debate on the internet as to whether that is a photoshop. I think it is real.

Yes the tree can take that kind of impact.
