E320 window malfunction

My battery died in my 01 E320. After I got it running, the windows (all 4) will go down, but do not go back up. Or rather back up a little at a time if I continually push the button. Does anyone know why?

You have to reset them, one by one. With engine running and all doors closed send a window down, the press down on the switch and hold down for a few seconds. Move the window to the top, little by little if need be, the hold the switch up for a few seconds, you may need to repeat the process a few times.

If you have a sun roof, you will need to reset that too.
