i new obviously to this group, but i tried to tackle front brakes and bearings recently. i can't get the SBC to reactivate and now i get a low battery message in the dash display. are these related? it will start the test, stop the rear wheel from turning, stop the front wheel from turning, i hear what i think are the brake pulses, but never give the 3 brake light flash. please assist ! this is driving me crazy.
For future reference and people who view this thread, to change the pads on the SBS system is very simple;
Remove the ignition key and any KG cards from the car then unplug the SBS unit, change the pads as normal and then re connect the SBS unit. DO NOT open the ignition during this process and the system will not know it was shut down to start with.
I've learned that the low battery indicator isn't that unusual with a few lengthy attemps like i had ! the deactivation method i used was the roll the window down, lock the doors and leave the car alone so as to put the sbc to sleep. i had zero issues with all my work as long as no one tried to open any doors or trunk or anything that alerted the car to wake up. Since my posting this Ive had the car towed for diagnosis with the Star software. Sounds like a wheel speed sensor is out of range according to two separate shops with over the phone depiction of the symptoms. Time and money will tell all !
