I have a 1997 E420 with Xenon headlights that came as a upgrade on this car. I took it to the dealership because I thought it was a simple bulb replacment job. I was told that it's not the bulb, but the ignitor that went bad. Of course, they are very expensive to replace. I've got a couple of quotes this week from two dealership for around 1,100.00 part and labor. I did little research on the internet and ran across a brand name called MTEC. They claim that their parts are not fake. But I would not know the fake from the authentic because I can't get to the bad part on my car to see who it's manufactured by. MTEC says their parts are made in Japan. Can anyone give me some feedback on this part and how can I track down the right part for my car? The cost of the MTEC part for my car is $320.00 that I saw on the internet. How legit is this?
