Changing HID xenon bulb

I have a 2004 S600 and want to change the low beam bulb myself? I have been able to find out that I need to remove the lens assembly to access the dust cover and the bulb / igniter assembly. There are two hex headed screws that hold the lens, a short guard piece not attached to the lens assembly both which need removal. The lens will not slide out even though I have also removed a nearby screw that hols part of the plastic bumper. There appears to be a need to loosen the bumper further to get easy slide out of the lens and to be able to access the wire harness that I suspect is behind the lens assembly. Where do I look now. I feel one inside the wheel well but it is coated and I don't want to play with it.

The lens does not come off, it is bonded to the lamp unit, the bulbs are changed from behind the lamp unit, no need to remove the whole lamp unit.

Well what you say about the dust cover is true about C and E but there is too little room in the S600 so the lens assembly must be removed to access the dust cover and conveniently get to the igniter/bulb . I saw a video on U-tube but they must have done the other pert before filming. I have been able to remove all the obstructing things in front of the lens assembly easily and it will move but hangs up on part of the bumper, hence my issue of what to loosen where.

Thanks, I think that shows me something I was not doing. I will try to see if I can wedge it on the outside corner and twist the inside portion of the assembly out first. I was trying to pull both forward simultaneously. This may be the key difference. Thanks for the pics. Great help.
