1985 300sd power windows
None of my power windows work. when i purchased the car almost a year ago 3 worked and then for a while only the drivers side worked and very slowly. I have cleaned the console switches. I tested the fuses for the windows...no power. I swapped the relay for the power seats and power windows and GOT POWER TO FUSES. so the relay is bad. But there is still no power to the console switches. don't know where to go from here. Am i testing power at switches correctly? with a test light it detects no power on any of the contacts where the switches connect. on in the wire. i would assume that at least one connection on each switch would be hot all the time. any suggestions on what to try?
