C-Class Tires
Our W203 C230K Sedan came with Michelins, and we're in Fort Lauderdale. All the ones I've seen down here have the Michelins, too. Of course, there could be other brands on new C-Class cars in the area.
Interestingly, the "C Spot Drive Party" touring the nation in honor of the C-Class this year will have Continental as one of a few main sponsors. I have reserved our attendance in Miami on 6/28/2003.
Excerpt from the promo page:
"Continental Tire: Continental Tire will proudly sponsor all the tires used in the C Spot tour. The performance of the ride-and-drive vehicles and the styling of the display vehicles will be enhanced by Continental's newest performance tires.
"Continental Tire: Continental Tire is privileged to work with Mercedes-Benz to produce a unique driving experience based on design and performance. We have been partners for years and, today the Continental brand is original equipment on various M-B models including the C, S, E classes and the AMG Series."
They're actually letting us drive cars from the C-Class line-up:
"A wide range of C-Class vehicles will be available for you to drive. The selection may vary, but will likely include the C230 Kompressor, C230 Sports Sedan, C240 Sedan, C240 4-Matic, C320 Sedans, C320 Wagon, C320 4-Matic, C320 Sports Sedan, and C32 AMGs."
I have done these driving promo events before. I met professional racecar drivers and even drove with and against them in an event down here for the then new Lexus IS300 Sport Sedan. We drove the tires of several stacks of rubber that day. It was a blast. They even had sedans from other makes there as well to show the superiority of the Lexus over these other makes. Select people (including myself) were able to drive them all; one right after another against each other.
Perhaps Michelin will cooperate in other events with MB? I know they sponsor and provide their tires (McLaren/Mercedes) for Formula One motorsports.
