2001 C320 clicking noise

I bought a used C320 from my local MB dealer. I noticed a clicking noise when the car warmed up good. I took it to the dealer and they told me that this was normal valve noise in the emission control vent valve. Is this true? Does anyone else have this problem? They told me replacing it might make it louder. Am I getting the run around?

Sounds like a purge valve to me. Totally normal.

That clicking noise

I've recently started having this problem (after almost 5 years)...it sounds like its coming from under the dash. Pretty damn annoying, and if it's supposedly "normal", then why would it all of a sudden start?

I'm in for service B in 500mi. so this will probably get resolved, but is it anything simple to fix?

That one sounds like a cracked footwell flap lever. If it's still under warranty, I'd send it in. If it's not under warranty, then it's really up to you on how annoying it is. But it's won't be cheap to fix, as most of the dash has to come out. But there is an updated reinforced lever available that should never break.

You're alright as far as mileage goes. Depending on the original delivery date of the vehicle, you may not be in warranty any longer due to time (4 yrs/50000mi).

Looks to me like your still under warranty. I'd also talk to your service advisor about looking the car over before the warranty is up. There are plenty of updates and service bulletins for your car. If they're performed now, it will save you from loads of headaches when your car's out of warranty.
