How to remove brake light switch

My 2002 s430 shifter stuck in Park. Try to replace brake switch first if it's the problem or shift selector. Thanks

I don't know exactly about that, but this is my uncle advised me. Locate the switch by starting at the brake pedal and running up the shaft until you see a tab coming off the left side. There should be a switch contacting the tab that comes from a small, tan box just on the aft side of the tab. Rotate the switch box a quarter turn and you should be able to remove the box by pulling it back from its metal support.
