Opinion needed about 1992 300CE - Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hi,

im looking into buying a 1992 300CE with 70,000 km on it.

I've never owned a Mercedes before and am very excited about even the possibility of owning one ... I was wondering if anyone can chare their experience or knowledge about this car?

I've read horror stories online about the maintenance costs and problems but it seems to be related mostly to models newer than 1995 - can anyone share their experience with maintenance/costs and frequency?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

I am not going to lie, the maintenance on a Merc is more then the average car. This is not because it is less reliable, if anything, they are more reliable. You just get charged the Benz markup on the parts. If you are hand with a wrench, you can by the parts yourself and just do your own maintenance.

As for the car, I would get it ASAP. I have never seen a 1992 with only 70K kilometers.
