Yes, it's beautiful. Yes, it's cool. But have you seen the pricing on this thing? $26,000 gets you a supercharged 192-horsepower engine, 6-speed manual transmission, A/C, power windows, locks and mirrors, ABS, traction control, alloy wheels, and automatic headlights. Whoa! Is this really a Mercedes? Oh, wait, it must be -- check out the option prices. Automatic tranny, $1,300. Leather, $1,410. CD player, $640. And if you want any color other than black, white or "desert silver", you'll pay $640 for metallic paint. In other words, with options, it's priced like we'd expect. But if you can find a base model -- talk about driving a bargain! |
