I have to disagree somewhat with the above. I don't feel like a properly running 240D or 300D non turbo is too slow for a teenager, or anyone else. I live in a large city and travel on the freeways just fine in a 240D automatic, which is considered the slowest of the slow. In these cars, you quickly learn when to pull out and when to wait for a longer space between cars. It's a whole other style of driving. These cars are fun to try to drive fast.

Never was rear-ended and was only honked at once.

The turbo cars ARE much nicer however. 300SDs are the bomb.
