Replacing the crankshaft sensor?

I determined that an issue I was having was due to a bad crankshaft sensor, so I bought a replacement. I have been reading lots of threads on how to replace, but I cannot determine where the actual sensor is nor how to get to it. So, is there a thread with step by step instructions or pictures that I am missing? I am also understanding that you need a specific tool to be able to undo the bolt that holds the sensor in...and that where the sensor is at is a hard to replace, not visible place.

Any help would be appreciated, even just a link to another thread, I've been reading all day. Thanks so much!
