Dealer truthful on windshield replacement

2016 S550 was equipped with the reflective IR windshield but a recent stone damage it was replaced at the dealership by outside vendor with MB non-/IR reflective clear glass with an explanation that this is the correct MB replacement, because the Ir/reflective windshield is no longer available based on my VIN. I find that hard to believe and have sent an email to MB USA but not holding my breath so reaching out to the MB forums for opinions or how to verify the dealers explanation ( the owner has a less than steller reputation ). Sound even remotely likely ? If it was you then what ?
