C-280 Spark Plugs

Question- I own a 1994 C-280 and have done maintenance on many cars in the past. I am looking to change the spark plugs and can't seem to locate them. Do I need to tear off half the engine to do this? Thanks!

Very easy to get to. Under the coils right on the top of the engine. You have to take the center cover off of the valve cover and you can't miss them.

There's six plugs, all in a line under that cover. The plug wires go into the holes where the other plugs are.

Mine has 3 that I can see with no problems and I just found the other 3. They are UNDER the electric coils that are along the side visible spark plugs. Weird setuo but the car is running great.

Question, I purchased the bosh plugs that costed $1.92. Pepboys have some that costs $3.something which have TWO metal tips instead of the regular one tip. Do these bosh plugs make ANY difference in burning fuel or give more power. How about the NGK'a which cost $6.00 each, are they any good. Or is the regular $1.92 bush plug good enough?

I would not for any reason use anything but the MB plugs from the dealer. These vehicles do not respond well to differant plugs; there are a myriad of stupid little problems that can occur.

What brand do the dealers sell? There is also this website (see link) that they is suppose to sell german parts and they to have bosh. So I'm really curious as to what brand the dealers sell.

They are a vehicle specific Bosch, not to be confused with a generic. I know Ron at germanstar pretty well. Great guy, spent a lot of years up ion my market, even worked for the same folks I do. That being said, I have to lean towards purchasing anything you need from the sponser that is nice enough to put this forum together. Here's the exact link for ya:

"F 8 DC4" those are the exact ones I bought for $1.92 each. Pepboys told me that those are generic and they sell them for 99 cents. THEY suggested some bosh that has 2 tips and costs close $5.00 each.

Anyway, that for all the help you been giving me, I really appreciate it! With that said I was going to the garage and it started raining so I tuned on the windshield wiper and the thing is now acting really wierd. It's like the wiper hardware underneath the plastic came loose or missaligned. It will wipe one time and will not go all that way back as it's suppose to. If I make it go fast it feels and sounds as if it's going to come apart!

Is this expensive to have the dealer fix it? I don't even want to call the dealer anymoere as they want me to take my car to get the head gasket oil leak fix. Oh, and about that my dipstick still has the same amount of oil. It's been 2 weeks i believe and the oil still full. It almost seems as if the guy who changed the oil put to much and so now ther's an overflow?

WEIRD!

Pull the cowl panel and inpect the wiper linkage. It may just need to be re-tightened.

Overfilling the engine oil wil cause seals and gaskets to fail. This is a very bad thing.

Also, most oil leaks will not cause the level to drop unless they are very serious.
