That is the brake master and one pipe leads to the ABS unit but it has a pipe going out from the side and going down, I believe this should lead to the clutch slave cylinder on the side of the tranny...

If it shifts OK then stop worrying, a tiny amount of metal shavings on a tranny this old is not a big sweat. But do change the fluid more often just to keep an eye on it.

Then it is not the motor or lack of power supply. But in another post you said the seat itself has problems so try the reset I posted on your other thread and see if this helps.

Slide the seat forward fully and hold the switch in the forward position for a few seconds and then repeat this in the opposite direction this should reset the seat.

Most probably the seat belt extender motor has failed but check all fuses first. If fuses are ok then remove the trim and disconnect the motor and test for power with ign on.

Yup, The TUV test is pronounced tough test for good reason. I was stationed there for 8 years and every car I bought failed the test, in the end I bought a new BMW, that could not fail.
