1971 350SL Power Steering Pump

623 Views 9 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  RedLiner
Hi. I am new to the forum. I just purchased a 1971 350SL with 4.5L V8. I have a leak in the power steering and from what I understand this is common and is generally the seal(s) on the power steering pump? Question is where to buy a replacement pump or does anyone know the part numbers - OEM or aftermarket for the seals? I could really use some resources for buying some reasonably priced parts as well so I can bring the car back to its former glory!! Thanks much!

I hope that you can restore the car to its former glory, it's such an iconic vehicle.

Thanks!! It is in pretty decent condition for a 1971! I just don’t have the data base at this point to source the parts. I need a rebuilt power steering pump, steering box and a high pressure steering pump hose initially but the car is very driveable and licensed so it is not a panic.

Lovely looking car, it even has the wind deflector so it doesn't mess up your hair :D
