The original starter on my car has given up the ghost. Bottom bolt came out okay, but am having a time removing the top bolt. My current approach is working underneath with a 17mm wobble socket and 3 feet of extensions to bring the ratchet head midships on the transmission by the shifter, where some leverage can be safely applied. Can't get seem to effectively get penetrating oil into the blind hole.

Any tricks out there, or is it just grunt work??
thanks!

The only tip I might offer is that you're not holding your toungue right- and yeah- it's just grunt work.

Good luck.
