I have found a 1987 190 Mercedes with 162,000 miles for sale. I have not looked at it but The owner says it runs good, has new brakes and interior and exterior are 90% in excellent condition. I'm new to Benzs' but am thinking $1500.00 is a reasonable price. Can someone give me an idea of about how many miles a 190E would go? Are Mercedes' known for high mileage and is $1500.00 a reasonable price? Sorry for my silly questions but just trying to understand the Benz a bit more. Thank you for your input!

Welcome to Benzforum. I'm not sure which engine this 190e has, but the price certainly seems reasonable. This model 190e came out with 3 different gas engines in the U.S. One of the better engines is the 2.6L six cylinder, but there are also many 2.3L four cylinder engines out there. The 2.3L may not be quite as durable in most cases, however, there is a 2.3L 16 valve that is a good engine, but much harder to find. I once had a 190d (4 cyl diesel) that had over 240k miles on it when I sold it, but I did have to replace the transmission on it. Mercedes are normally very durable, but as with any vehicle must be properly maintained and serviced.
