. . . Will be buying either a new [found one new at an acceptable cost] or refurb'd TB. The candidates have a different [email protected] from mine but one that is said by MB and other sources to fit my car.
My question: is there a part number that has good wiring rather than the bio-degradable wiring? FYI: My part# 000 141 92 25, the [email protected] of all the candidates is 001 141 02 25.

I believe that the TB is the major problem with idling and stalling. I cleaned it up after which it seemed to run better, than took a nose dive for the worse. Think I disturbed some deteriorating wires. Anyway this seems like the logical step to try to get the car back on the road.

Any advice about the transplant operation gladly accepted.

Hi. I did a quick check and see the same as you - the part numbers are interchangeable.

Thanks.
I wondering if the 141 02 25, or any number for that matter, is for post degradable wiring. Probably too much to hope for.

Enough musing, ordered a used "good condition" superceding TB (being a later mfgr may mean better wiring?), with 30 day return and 1 yr warranty. So with these two rabbit's feet I'm feeling lucky. Get it 3/1.

Skinned knuckles, working blind with some carefully chosen tools, and good guessing and the job is done.
For information. the connector is held in place by a hinged clip on the harness side. Easily breakable I suspect although I never really got a good look at it, carefully probed and prodded with a small, but not short, flat bladed screw driver until it swung away, in one piece. Used spark plug wire pliers (just the right shape but barley long enough) to wiggle and pull the connector free from the harness. "installing is the reverse or removing" except easier, because I was better informed. So done here. Thanks all.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing the process you used. It will be helpful to others in the future!
