I have a 1995 C280 that would not crank due to the anti theft system engaged. Turns out my vacuum pump for the door and trunk locks was not working. I went in and jumped power directly to the pump motor and it runs. Apparently the circuit board is bad? Unfortunately while troubleshooting I jumped power backwards (motor runs in both directions) with the wiring hooked up and arced a spark. This seems to have blown a fuse. I have now operated the door locks correctly by jumping power directly to the vacuum motor and the car now cranks but has no spark. Does anyone know if there is a main ignition fuse and where it may be located? It is not in the main fuse box under the hood or fuse box in the trunk?
Thanks for your help.
