Hi all I hope someone can help me with this.
My 1997 C180 classic has a non-automatic aircon system. I don't know whether it's related but I can't use the temperature setting wheels at all, I have to leave them at zero (or "off") because if I do, say at a medium setting, after a few minutes the heat starts to blow at 100% on either the passenger side or the driver side. It won't cool down unless I stop the car completely and blow air through the system with the engine switched off for 5 minutes. This is the same regardless of whether the aircon is on or off.
Has anyone come across this? A friend of mine with an E class of similar age has the same problem. But no garage seems to be able to fix it.
Any help will be much appreciated
