Is there anything that I should be aware of when picking up my new coupe? Something that I may overlook, such as floor mats or programming etc.? This is my first Mercedes and I don't know what to expect. I'm assuming it should be a pleasant/special experience and would like to be sure I don't miss out on anything that comes with a new Mercedes purchase. Thanks for any help you can give...

Welcome to the board.

Your sales rep should do a presentation and demonstration when he/she delivers the car. It should last a minimum of half an hour. I got one that lasted about 15 minutes, because the prep department forgot to prep the car, and the sales rep also had two more cars to deliver in the next hour.

You should check out a couple of books on buying a car for detailed delivery checklists. Although my rep was rushed for time, I went through the checklist myself before leaving the dealership.

Your own order records should tell you what options to expect on the car. MB material can tell you what is standard. You could use those as a check list.

Make sure the person who reviews your car with you doesn't rush. You should feel reasonably secure in the basic workings of your car when you pull out of the lot.

Also, check the paint carefully. Any mechanical issue will be covered under warranty. Paint flaws discovered after the fact wil be tougher to prove. So, don't be shy about getting down on one knee and taking a good look at the paint.

Enjoy your new ride! 8)
