Hi I'm new to the site, in the process of restoring my second 300D, and the transmission is totally gone on it.

So I've been doing some research into the 300D transmissions and found the lists cumbersome as they usually contain every mercedes transmission ever built lol.

So here are the few that actually pertain to our cars

So here is my question, my car has the 7801 code transmission:

123 270 7801 -722 315 02

I found a transmission for sale, listed as a national North American model not catalytic converter car it has the 5901 code:

123 270 5901 -722 315 02

Are these two transmissions compatible??
