Hi, I would like to compare warrenty labor times between MB and
Chrysler on the 722.6. As you may know DCX is now using the 722.6
in it's LX line (300C , Charger and Magnum) and in some of the new
Grand Cherokees. As well as the Sprinter and Crossfire that are rebadged
MB's. I can list some of Chryslers times if that is acceptable but for now
all I can say is the times SEEM to be on the low side when compared to
transmissions of other makes. A good example would be a Charger
with the 5.7 "HEMI" engine. To diagnose, r&r and recondition trans and
valve body, flush cooler, reset adaptives and road test, fill out diag and
70% sheet pays less that 6.0 (5.8 as i recall) Seems low to me, let me
know what you think.

MB's pay anywhere from 5-8 hours to R&R, depending on vehicle. They no longer want us to rebuild them, instead just replace them, so they cut the D&A time from something like 4 hours to 1 hour.

What is D&A time. Disassembly and reassembly? So they give you a
choice to repair or replace by cutting the repair times, Right?

We have to repair them if cost of repair is under 70% of replacement after
tear down. Does MB have a similar rule?

Thanks

No, not really. We used to have a choice of either rebuilding or replacing. We still do have that choice, but the choice is now pretty easy since they cut the time down so dramatically. That was basically they're way of saying we don't want you rebuilding them anymore.
