hi, I just picked up my new 2003 C230 Sedan tonight. I was wondering if I can make the alarm chirp. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A Mercedes tech must use the DAS computer to access the rear SAM module and change to country setting to "Netherlands".

Hi Lynn, I asked the md salesman and he said that my car doesn't have a way to even sound when locking and unlocking. I told him that I have been a member of the benz forum for months and know someone else has been able to do it. Anyway, does it make sense to you at all what the salesman told me?

It can be done, but at the dealership

At the dealer, using the MB factory handheld laptop tester, go into the car's computer system.
Go into Programs
Locate the Rear SAM Program
Locate Body
Select Netherlands
Now the car does a "chirp, chirp, chirp" when locking/arming and a single chirp when unlocking/disarming


I've heard that enabling the Netherlands feature disbles the use of your panic button.
