1. empty chambers in brake fluid reservoir down to a fluid level of approximately 10mm.
2. fill brake fluid reservoir with brake fluid up to the MAX mark.
3. pump out old brake fluid with 10 pump strokes at each wheel brake and at the clutch slave cylinder. fill reservoir with new brake fluid. clear brake fluid free of bubbles must flow out of the bleed hose. do not empty the reservoir completely.
4. lastly, correct the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir. MB recommends DOT 4 plus brake fluids.

I'm replacing my brake pads this weekend. What type of brake fluid do I need after I bleed the brakes? Thanks for the heads up on the sequence.
