Has anyone in this forum perform a brake job for a 99 c230K? I need to switch out my front pads , but I have never worked on MB. Do i need specialty tools? I have experience wiht Japanese cars, but I like some guidance for a MB brake service. If anyone have inputs or a list of process it will be greatly appreciated.
you'll need a hamer, a long punch (i believe, at least on most MB's) and really nothing else. make sure you put a rag over the brake fluid resovior before compress the pistons as they will sometimes make a mess. other than that they are incredibley easy and straightforward.
a punch is a tool, similar in application to a chisel, minus the edge. there are pins on many MB cars thar hold the brake pad in the caliper, and these need to be popped out to remove the pads. you need a longer punch to push the pin all the way out.
