Got a 97 E420. Tires are MXV4 Mikies with 45K. Two have plugs and are are on the front. New pads in front and rear. New rotors in front.

At times (which makes this more difficult to diagnose, I get a shimmy in the steering wheel when I brake - either lightly or fairly quickly. This happens sporadically- before and after the tires haved warmed.

Could it be tires that are probably somewhat out of balance? Could air in the hydraulic system cause this?

Unfortunately my guess is that it is something more serious.

Appreciate any assistance. Thanx.

sounds like a pad material build up on the rotor ...... does it happen after an aggressive appication of the brakes or a spirited drive through some twisties ?????
