Up until today I thought my car was perfect. I have had no problems so far with my car (besides horrible gas mileage), but today when I was trying to close the sunroof the shade wouldn't come out and it started making a funny noise and the light would flicker. So then I tried opening up the glass part again and closing it to see if maybe something had just been stuck. When I tried to open the glass it would open about an inch and then stop. I read a lot of posts on people that have had sunroof problems. Does anyone know if Mercedes has found the problem yet? I'm bringing it in to the dealership tomorrow and letting them have it. My car only has 1,300 miles on it.

I sometimes hear a strong clicking sound when I first open the shade...is that how the sunroof problems start?

not sure about that...but right before mine broke it made some hard clunking noises....it's going to the dealership tomorrow morning..

Just an update on the brokensunroof. I brought it to the dealer the next morning and by around 2 that afternoon that had everything fixed. For the short time that the car was in the shop they gave me an M-class to drive. Loved the navigation screen.

Glad to hear is was fixed so quickly. Some people have had to wait for parts to come from Europe.

I've taken my car in for the roof problem, it took them from 8am-5pm, they left the car a mess but the roof worked. When i tested it out, it made some weird noises, but i thought that was normal since, you know, at least it worked. but now sometimes, when its hot out, the roof doesnt work, pisses me off. but i'm glad to hear that yours is in order, i wish i could depend on my roof opening at my command, lol.
